Within the framework of the Service Agreements concluded with the Roads Department of Georgia in 2016, the Georgian Branch of Institut IGH has successfully developed the design of roads in mountainous regions of Georgia. The design projects envisage rehabilitation, reconstruction and construction of roads in high mountainous areas of the Country.
The country will benefit greatly from the designed road infrastructure as it will contribute to the social and economic development of the mountainous regions through shortened and faster roads with increased capacity. The development of new and rehabilitation of the existing road network is very important for the mountainous settlements as it promotes the development of agricultural and tourism sectors of these areas.

The Client – Roads Department of Georgia, through tender procedures identified construction companies which have already started construction and rehabilitation works under the projects, listed below:
1. The rehabilitation – reconstruction works along the Baghdati – Abastumani Section of the Kutaisi (Saghoria) – Baghdati - Abastumani – Benara Road of National significance – Works are ongoing on 5 road sections, total length of 36, 21 km.
2. Alternative Alignment Analysis and Detailed Design for the Construction – Reconstruction of Zemo Imereti – Racha Connecting Road - Construction works have already been completed for Lot 1 and are ongoing for another four Lots, total length of 32, 6 km.
3. Design for the Construction - Reconstruction Works of roads towards Sno – Juta – Roshka – Shatili – Omalo – Khadori gorge – Batsara – Akhmeta, crossing the territories of Telavi, Akhmeta, Dusheti and Kazbegi Municipalities. Works are ongoing on Karkucha-Juta, Juta – Roshka sections and six Lots for Barisakho-Shatili section, a total length of 54, 39 km.
Within the framework of the three large scale design projects being carried out by Institut IGH, the construction, rehabilitation and reconstruction works are underway on 123, 2 km of roads.
Along with the above listed design projects, the Georgian branch of the Company has already completed the preparation of the detailed design for 14 roads of national significance, one landslide prevention and the conceptual designs of 27 bridges in different regions of the country. As part of the completed design tasks, Roads Department of Georgia has launched rehabilitation works on four roads and 15 bridges.
