Employees of the Water Engineering, Geotechnics and Environmental Protection Department of the Institut IGH visited the Zagreb Remetinec Roundabout construction site. The present, underpass construction phase includes works on the drainage system, with a pump station situated between the two underpasses. Construction of certain parts of the drainage system is especially interesting for the employees of the Water Engineering Department, because some of them participated in its design development, i.e. the development of the Detailed and Working designs.
During their visit, the employees inspected a part of the site, namely the underpass and pump station, which will be used for drainage of storm water and leachate water. The pump station is the main structure of the drainage system for this part of the Roundabout. In its final phase, the structure will be an underground structure, so our water engineers had the opportunity at this time to see the level of completion of the drainage system in this construction phase. This was a onetime opportunity for our colleagues to see this impressive future structure from the level of the underpass foundation slab blinding concrete, i.e. the very bottom of the excavation.

Institut IGH developed the Detailed and Working designs for the Roundabout as well as the Temporary traffic regulation design. Institut IGH employees are also engaged as Design Supervision. Completion of this Project will allow for an unobstructed traffic flow and less traffic jams on this busy intersection.
The works are expected to be completed by April 2020 and overall value of Zagreb Remetinec Roundabout Project is 333 million Kuna.
