Voluntary certification

Zdravko Baršić

mr.sc. dipl.ing.stroj.

Except for the part regulated by the law, IGH Cert also provides services of so called voluntary certification.
Voluntary certification is a procedure of certification by implementing actions planned for systems 1, 1+ and 2+, in case when the manufacturer or his authorized representative wishes to certify a product/production in a higher level (more demanding) system of assessment and verification of constancy of performance than provided in the technical specification and legislation.
Based on the voluntary certificate, the Declaration of Performance cannot be drawn up and the product cannot be affixed with the CE or C marking, which is clearly stated on the certificate itself.

Quality management systems

Head of IGH QM Systems

Hrvoslava Vujčić Žorić

BA

As early as 2006, Institut IGH d.d. recognized the need to conduct its business operations in compliance with the requirements of the standard HRN EN ISO 9001 and reached a strategic decision to introduce a quality management system. It was one of the first companies in Croatia to establish, document, implement and certify a quality management system according to the standard ISO 9001, which increased the quality of service, satisfaction of the end user and competitiveness of the organization.
In 2009, Institut IGH d.d. established and successfully certified a system according to the standard HRN EN ISO:14001 for the environmental management system. The essential purpose of certification of the environmental management system is to support environmental protection and pollution prevention. As a part of Quality Policy, Institut IGH d.d. also defined the environmental management policy. The Policy includes Company’s commitment to continually improve the system and prevent pollution and to make it compliant with appropriate legal and other requirements.
An occupational health and safety management system in compliance with the standard OHSAS 18001 was implemented by Institut IGH back in 2009, when focus was placed on quality planning of all work processes and its parts in order to identify hazards and risks, meet the requirements of national regulations which these processes are subject to.
Considering the construction activity and despite the impossibility to fully eliminate risks, the objective of the system is to control them to the greatest degree possible, in order to prevent injuries and diseases of persons that work at or for Institut IGH in any way.
The system is being continuously improved in order to reduce risks at workplaces and increase the level of protection and safety of employees, which is then reflected on all other interested parties (subcontractors, employees’ families, immediate and wider community etc.).

IGH Laboratories

Head of Materials and Structures Department

Slaviša Rajič

MSc.CE

ASME NQA-a and 10CFR50 define requirements for quality assurance for work in nuclear plants.
IGH laboratories have a valid certificate of the Croatian Accreditation Agency (No. 1043) for the standard HRN EN ISO/IEC 17025.
“Competence requirements for laboratories have been laid down in the standard HRN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and implemented worldwide for a long time. In the laboratory world, it has been recognized as a basis on which laboratories found their management systems and processes. Since its first edition was published in 1999, it has established itself as one standard for all laboratories, and the number of laboratories that apply this standard is continuously growing. Accreditation of the laboratory contributed to this as well, since this standard was recognized by the accreditation bodies as the fundamental document that lays down requirements for the competence of laboratories.” (copied from: http://www.svijet-kvalitete.com/index.php/akreditacija/3823-sto-ocekuje-laboratorije-s-novim-izdanjem-iso-iec-17025)
Advantages of accreditation according to the standard HRN EN ISO/IEC 17025:
• Increasing the confidence of customers in results provided by the laboratory
• The customer knows what quality of results he can expect
• Ensuring a greater number of customers at the laboratory
• Better competitiveness of laboratories on the market
• Results produced by the laboratory are internationally recognized
For the norm which is defined by ASME NQ-A and 10CFR50 the valid manual is attached. IGH is currently being evaluated by Krško Nuclear Power Plant, and the positive result of their evaluation will be inclusion on their list of approved partners.
