The new plant of the Gredelj Railway Vehicle Factory (TŽV GREDELJ), situated at a new location at Vukomerečka cesta bb, was ceremoniously opened on 30 June 2010. This event marks completion of the PHASE ONE of the new plant.
The consulting, design and technical supervision services during construction, upgrade and extension of the TŽV GREDELJ plant at Vukomerec Zagreb, have been rendered by Institut IGH, d.d, Zagreb.
The main activities on the project consist in the upgrade and extension of the TŽV GREDELJ Plant for the Maintenance and Repair of Railway Vehicles, situated at the cadastral plot No. 2761/17 in the cadastral district of Resnik, at Vukomerečka cesta in Zagreb.
Description of the project:
The plant is a complex facility composed of eight distinct technological units (eight phases). The new complex of manufacturing halls, with warehouses and accessory facilities, was built in keeping with technological processes selected for the project: new buildings were built for the administration and engineers-designers, as well as a restaurant capable of accommodating the total of one thousand workers in two shifts, and the access-control gates; the external road infrastructure was realized as well as the internal power supply system compliant with technological requirements for the plant, with connections to public utilities - roads, railway tracks, gas supply, water supply and drainage, electricity supply, telecommunications and buried telephone duct network, internal distribution of industrial gases (oxygen, compressed air, blanketing gas), internal distribution of heating (hot water pipelines), and horticultural development of the surrounding area.

According to the contract, the project start time is October 2006 and the completion is due in June 2010.
The estimated value of the work is approx. € 85 million.
Detailed design documents, working design documents, and technology design documents were prepared in the scope of the project. Based on the design documentation, the corresponding working permits were obtained, and amendments were issued as necessary for adjustment to technological processes. The bidding documentation for construction contract award was prepared, and technical supervision of construction work was conducted.
